Pakistan to Protect Sovereignty Decisively: Field Marshal


Karachi: Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has emphatically stated that Pakistan will protect its sovereignty and core national interests decisively and without hesitation. Addressing Pakistan Navy Midshipmen and Short Service Commission Course parade in Karachi on Saturday, he said let it be known to all inimical forces who harbor nefarious designs against Pakistan that we are ever ready in our resolve to defend our motherland at all costs.



According to Radio Pakistan, referencing India’s recent unprovoked aggression and Pakistan’s response, the Chief of Army Staff remarked that the successes of Marka-e-Haq shall never fade from Indian memory. He noted that Pakistan’s national spirit has strengthened in the face of adversity.



Speaking further, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir emphasized that any enemy acting on perceived vulnerabilities of Pakistan would receive an assured and swift response. He highlighted that India has twice initiated acts of aggression against Pakistan, which were met with resolute responses. Despite provocations, Pakistan demonstrated restraint and commitment to regional peace, reinforcing its role as a regional stabilizer.



Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir cautioned that assumptions of Pakistan’s constraints in the face of future sovereignty violations are dangerous. He asserted that the aggressor would bear the consequences of any escalation. He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and acknowledged that adversities have only strengthened the nation.



During his address, he acknowledged the sacrifices of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for their right to self-determination. He stressed the importance of resolving the Kashmir dispute for regional peace.



Addressing the training course participants, he praised the Pakistan Naval Academy for its quality training, which attracts cadets from countries including Bahrain, Iraq, Palestine, Djibouti, and Turkiye. He highlighted the necessity of maintaining a strong maritime force in light of evolving naval challenges and acknowledged Pakistan Navy’s historical role in securing global sea lines.



On the occasion, he distributed prizes to the best-performing cadets. The commissioning term included 127 midshipmen, with international participants from Bahrain, Iraq, and Palestine, as well as cadets from the Short Service Commission Course. Earlier, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf welcomed Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the Naval Academy.
