Islamabad: Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar has announced that Pakistan is set to introduce a National Women Entrepreneurship Policy. This initiative marks a significant step towards bolstering women's participation in the nation's economic landscape.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the Joint Pakistan-Azerbaijan Women Entrepreneurship Dialogue held in Islamabad, Haroon Akhtar emphasized that the government is committed to transforming women's economic inclusion from a mere aspiration into a cornerstone of the national economic strategy. The policy aims to provide easier access to SME financing schemes specifically tailored for women entrepreneurs, thereby facilitating their entry and growth in various industries.
He further elaborated that the National Industrial Policy places a strong emphasis on the role of women entrepreneurs, highlighting their central importance in achieving industrial growth and economic stability. The policy is expected to address various challenges faced by women in business and provide a supportive framework to enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities.
