Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says it is a matter of great pride that Pakistan has been appointed as Chair of United Nations Security Council’s Sanctions Committee, Vice Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, and Co-Chair of Informal Working Group on documentation and sanctions.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed on social media platform X that these key appointments validate the international community’s confidence and trust in Pakistan’s counterterrorism credentials as well as an acknowledgment of the country’s strong and unwavering commitment to eradicate this global menace.
He emphasized that Pakistan has been one of the biggest victims of terrorism, having endured over ninety thousand casualties and more than 150 billion dollars in economic losses. The Prime Minister highlighted that Pakistan’s sacrifices in combating terrorism have been second to none.
