Pakistan Remains Frontline State in Counter-Terrorism Fight: Naqvi


Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reiterated Pakistan’s crucial role in the global fight against terrorism, asserting the country’s position as a frontline state in these efforts. During discussions with Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad, Naqvi highlighted the significant costs Pakistan has endured to contribute to global security.



According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Naqvi emphasized the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s security forces, police, and citizens across various sectors in combating terrorism. He also praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts towards the Gaza Peace Agreement, attributing the progress towards enduring peace in the Middle East to Trump’s leadership.



Naqvi expressed optimism about U.S. investment in Pakistan’s mineral and other sectors, seeing it as a positive development for bilateral relations. Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and assured continued U.S. cooperation. She also conveyed condolences for the lives lost in recent terrorist attacks, underscoring the shared commitment to combating terrorism.



The meeting also covered discussions on enhancing Pak-U.S. relations and exploring cooperation in various areas. Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry was in attendance, contributing to the dialogue on strengthening bilateral ties.
