Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Iraq’s Stability


New York: At the UN Security Council, Pakistan has reaffirmed support for Iraq’s stability, democratic progress, and humanitarian efforts. Delivering a national statement during the UN Security Council briefing on the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, reiterated firm support for Iraq’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He emphasized that it is imperative that Iraq is not drawn into regional confrontations.



According to Radio Pakistan, the statement by Ambassador Ahmad highlighted the significance of maintaining Iraq’s stability and the importance of continued international support. The ambassador underscored the need for Iraq to remain free from regional conflicts, which could undermine its progress and stability.



The UN Security Council briefing focused on the ongoing efforts and challenges faced by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq. The mission aims to assist Iraq in its democratic transition and address humanitarian needs.
