New york: Pakistan has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to the One-China Principle and its ironclad friendship with the People’s Republic of China. The statement was made by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, while addressing a seminar at the UN headquarters.
According to Radio Pakistan, Asim Iftikhar described the 1971 restoration of China’s rightful place in the United Nations as a seminal act of historical justice, categorizing it as a defining milestone in the evolution of multilateral diplomacy. He emphasized that the historic restoration reaffirmed that the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole and legitimate representative of the whole of China. He also underscored that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China that can never be separated from the motherland.
Asim Iftikhar stated that Pakistan draws deep satisfaction from its friendship with China and highly values China’s steadfast commitment to international cooperation and its vigorous efforts to restore multilateral diplomacy to its full vitality.
