Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed appreciation for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir during a visit by the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, Ambassador Yousef M. Al Dobeay. The visit highlighted that the issues of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir remain central to the OIC’s agenda.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Al Dobeay and his delegation held discussions with senior Pakistani officials, including the Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Amir Muqam. During these meetings, the Pakistani leadership expressed gratitude for the OIC’s consistent support for the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
The Special Envoy was informed about the ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the destabilizing effects of India’s aggressive rhetoric and actions. It was emphasized that the people of Kashmir rely on the OIC and the Muslim community for active support in achieving their right to self-determination and resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute peacefully, in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
This visit marked Ambassador Al Dobeay’s fifth trip to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir since his appointment as the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir. The visit served as a reaffirmation of the OIC’s dedication to the Kashmir cause.
