Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said Pakistan possesses immense tourism potential, with attractions ranging from snow-covered peaks and vast deserts to ancient civilizations. He made these remarks while addressing the National Tourism Awards 2025, held in Islamabad today under the auspices of Discover Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister noted that Pakistan offers a complete package for tourists, from the highest snow-clad mountains to the golden deserts and the historic Gandhara Civilization. He highlighted that one of the world’s oldest statues of Buddha is located in Pakistan. He added that the country provides rich cultural diversity to explore, along with a wide variety of delicious cuisine.
Attaullah Tarar further said Pakistan hosts one of the largest jeep rallies in the Cholistan Desert every year. He emphasized that Pakistan is also home to the Kailash tribe, which continues to preserve its centuries-old traditions.
The Minister underscored that the people of Pakistan are known for their hospitality and easy-going nature. He remarked that Pakistanis are taught from a young age that guests must always be treated with respect and honour.
Attaullah Tarar further said the government is open to collaborations with platforms like Discover Pakistan. He proposed to form a joint working group with Discover Pakistan to globally promote Pakistan’s tourism potential.
