Pakistan Navy Hosts 8th Maritime Security Workshop at PN War College


Islamabad: Pakistan Navy is hosting the 8th Maritime Security Workshop (MARSEW-8) at PN War College, Lahore, starting from Tuesday. The ten-day event will bring together parliamentarians, academics, entrepreneurs, media figures, and other stakeholders to foster a comprehensive strategic understanding of maritime security and explore the potential of Pakistan’s blue economy through inclusive, multi-sectoral dialogue.



According to Radio Pakistan, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf emphasized that the Maritime Security Workshop aims to sensitize maritime stakeholders and decision-makers to support the formulation of suitable policies at the national level. In his welcoming message to participants, Admiral Ashraf highlighted the importance of diversity in developing a shared understanding of Pakistan’s maritime challenges and opportunities.



The Naval Chief also pointed out that Pakistan’s Blue Economy holds the potential to contribute tens of billions of dollars to the national economy if utilized effectively. The workshop is expected to be a platform for significant discussions and collaborations towards achieving this goal.
