New York: Pakistan’s Permanent Mission at the UN and the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York jointly hosted a ceremony to commemorate ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ and to pay tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan for their defense of the nation against the aggression by India.

According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, expressed pride in the nation’s armed forces for their courage. He noted that Pakistan successfully countered India’s attempts to alter the power dynamics in the region and thwarted its aspirations of regional dominance.

Ambassador Ahmad highlighted that while India engaged in actions violating Pakistan’s sovereignty and international law, Pakistan responded with restraint, a stance that received global recognition. He emphasized the ongoing threats to regional peace due to provocative statements from Indian leaders, asserting Pakistan’s readiness to defend its independence and territorial integrity.

Consul General Aamer Ahmad Atozai reiterated Pakistan’s position that peace in South Asia is linked to resolving the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in line with UN Security Council Resolutions.
