Pakistan Issues Strong Demarche to Afghanistan Over Terrorist Attacks

Islamabad: Pakistan summoned the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission and issued a strong demarche to the Taliban regime concerning terrorist attacks against Pakistan that originated from Afghan territory.

According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Foreign Office strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack carried out by the Khwarij, specifically the Kharji Gul Bahadur Group, on a Pakistan Military camp in North Waziristan. The office expressed grave concern about the ongoing support and facilitation provided by the Afghan Taliban regime to the Fitna-al-Khwarij/ TTP.

The Foreign Office highlighted that this support from the Afghan regime enables the Fitna-al-Khwarij/ TTP to execute terrorist attacks against both military and civilian targets along the Pak-Afghan border and in nearby regions. The statement from the Foreign Office underscored that the permissive environment for the FAK/TTP in Afghanistan contradicts the country’s commitments to the international community and to Pakistan, pledging not to allow its territory to be used against any other country, including Pakistan.

Pakistan has called for a thorough investigation and decisive action against those responsible for and facilitating the terrorist attacks launched from Afghan soil. The Afghan Taliban regime has been urged to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable actions against all terrorist groups operating from its territory, including their leadership, and to prevent the continued use of Afghan soil for terrorism against Pakistan.

Furthermore, the Afghan Taliban regime has been clearly informed that Pakistan reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens, and will take all necessary measures to respond to terrorism originating from Afghan soil.
