Islamabad: Pakistan's Foreign Office summoned the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission to deliver a strong demarche to the Afghan Taliban regime concerning a terrorist attack in Bajaur that resulted in the martyrdom of eleven Pakistani soldiers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the attack was a vehicle-borne suicide bombing followed by a fire raid on a post held by Pakistan's Military and Law Enforcement Agencies in Bajaur. The group responsible for the attack, Fitna al Khwarij (FAK), operates with impunity from Afghan soil, with its leadership based in Afghanistan.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi conveyed Pakistan's serious concerns to the Afghan Taliban regime. He highlighted that despite repeated assurances from the Afghan authorities, there has been a lack of visible or concrete actions against FAK/TTP.

The spokesperson emphasized that the Afghan Taliban regime has been urged to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable measures against all terror groups operating from its territory, including their leadership. Pakistan has made it clear that it reserves the right to respond and eliminate any threats from the FAK group and their affiliates to ensure the safety of its soldiers, civilians, and territorial boundaries.
