Pakistan and Iran have underlined the importance of strengthening energy cooperation in power plants operations and maintenance. The understanding to this effect reached during a meeting between Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Leghari and Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Ali Abadi, on the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road Ministerial Conference at Qingdao in China. Awais Leghari underscored the importance of cross-border energy projects in boosting connectivity and trade. The two sides discussed future collaboration, particularly focusing on the development of electricity projects in Gwadar area of Balochistan. They also exchanged views on the need for enhanced energy connectivity amongst the regional countries and emphasized the need for regular coordination and communication. Both the Ministers also discussed that effective plant management is essential for sustaining energy output and meeting the growing demands of the region. Source: Radio Pakistan
