Pakistan-India Ceasefire Result of International Diplomatic Efforts: Tarar

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that the recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India is a result of diplomatic efforts from multiple countries. In his interview with Sky News, he acknowledged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s gratitude toward President Donald Trump, highlighting Trump’s significant role in facilitating the ceasefire.

According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar emphasized that President Trump’s commitment to resolving major issues between India and Pakistan, including the Kashmir issue, was evident in his communications. The Minister also expressed appreciation toward the leadership of China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkiye, and Qatar for their contributions to achieving the ceasefire.

Tarar noted that the Director Generals of Military Operations from both countries have been in contact. He clarified that the ceasefire is a testament to Pakistan’s strategic success rather than a sign of weakness. Addressing the Pahalgam incident, Tarar conveyed Pakistan’s concerns and condolences to the victims and their families, while stressing Pakistan’s offer for a transparent investigation, which India has not accepted.

He criticized India’s baseless allegations against Pakistan regarding the Pahalgam incident, noting a lack of evidence linking Pakistan to the event. Tarar pointed out that despite India’s deployment of over seven hundred thousand troops in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the incident signifies a security lapse on India’s part, with no group claiming responsibility yet.

On the Indus Water Treaty, Tarar asserted Pakistan’s legal advantage, stating that India lacks the capacity to stop water flow. Discussing military responses, he revealed Pakistan’s targeted strikes on Indian military installations, which he claimed caused significant damage. Tarar expressed skepticism about India’s ability to sustain further conflict.

Regarding alleged terrorist infrastructures, Tarar denied any existence of safe havens or camps within Pakistan. He reaffirmed the nation’s solidarity with its Armed Forces, underscoring the unity and resolve of the Pakistani people.
