Pakistan Expresses Support for Stabilization Efforts in Syria

Islamabad: Pakistan has welcomed the evolving situation in Syria, stating that after years of conflict, fragmentation, and humanitarian suffering, the country now has a genuine opportunity to advance stabilization, recovery, and a return to normalcy.

According to Radio Pakistan, the remarks were made by Pakistan's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Usman Jadoon, during a UN Security Council briefing on the humanitarian and political situation in Syria. He emphasized that this opportunity must be seized, preserved, and supported by the international community.

Usman Jadoon highlighted the importance of an inclusive, Syrian-owned, and Syrian-led political process that broadens participation, strengthens national cohesion, and responds to the aspirations of the Syrian people. He expressed deep concern over Israeli military escalation against Syria, strongly condemning Israel's attack on Abu al-Duhur Airbase as a violation of international law.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan's full support for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for the peace, stability, and prosperity of the Syrian people. He emphasized that Pakistan would continue to stand with the brotherly people of Syria as they pursue a future of unity, stability, and prosperity.
