Doha: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized that Israel’s brazen aggression in the Middle East must be stopped and the Ummah needs unity among its ranks in the face of Israeli provocations. He laid this emphasis during his official visit to Qatar to express solidarity with the people and the leadership of Qatar in the wake of the recent Israeli attack on Doha.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister held a warm and cordial meeting with Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Shehbaz Sharif conveyed Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the Israeli attack on Doha, terming it a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He expressed that the leadership and people of Pakistan were deeply disturbed by this attack against the brotherly State of Qatar, constituting a serious breach of international law.
While reaffirming the historic bonds between Pakistan and Qatar, the Prime Minister highlighted that the two countries have always supported each other. It was in this spirit of brotherhood that Pakistan stood with the Amir, the Royal Family of Qatar, and the people of Qatar during this challenging time. He assured the Qatari leadership of Pakistan’s full solidarity and support, conveyed sympathies on the loss of lives, and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Prime Minister appreciated Qatar’s constructive role in peace efforts in Gaza and stressed that Israeli aggression threatens regional stability and ongoing diplomatic initiatives. At Qatar’s request, Pakistan has called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council to discuss recent developments in the Middle East. He welcomed Qatar’s decision to host an Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit and expressed Pakistan’s willingness to co-sponsor the event.
The Amir of Qatar thanked the Prime Minister for visiting Doha and expressing solidarity. Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination in promoting regional peace, upholding international law, and supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The visit reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Qatar and their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
