New york: Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the use of starvation and collective punishment as tools to advance military or political objectives. Making a national statement at the Security Council’s Open Debate on Conflict-Related Food Insecurity, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, noted that Gaza epitomized the cruelty of this weaponization.
According to Radio Pakistan, he stated that one hundred percent of the population in Gaza faces high levels of acute food insecurity, with entire communities now trapped in a catastrophic spiral of deprivation, marked by starvation, destitution, and death.
