Islamabad: Pakistan strongly condemns the Houthi attack on a non-combatant commercial vessel in the Red Sea.

According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed deep concern over the incident in a post on X. He reported that the attack resulted in the loss of three Pakistani nationals and injuries to another. Pakistan extends condolences to the bereaved families.

Ishaq Dar emphasized that such attacks threaten innocent lives, violate international law, and pose a threat to freedom of navigation, maritime security, and the safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

Pakistan is engaging with Saudi authorities and Yemen's internationally recognized government to gather more details about the incident and its circumstances.

The Deputy Prime Minister has instructed the Embassy in Riyadh to coordinate with relevant authorities. Efforts are being made to retrieve and repatriate the remains of the deceased and to provide assistance to the injured national.

Pakistan is actively monitoring the situation and will maintain communication with the concerned authorities.
