Pakistan Committed to Regional Peace: Attaullah

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said Pakistan will continue to play its role in maintaining and supporting peace in the region. Addressing an event at the Institute of Regional Studies in Islamabad today, he assured that the Kashmir dispute will always remain a priority for the government.

According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar emphasized that Pakistan will persist in extending moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the United Nations resolutions, advocating for the right of self-determination for the Kashmiri people.

The Information Minister remarked on the adversary’s policy, describing it as deceitful. He criticized the notion of a rising India trying to assume a dominant role in South Asia, which he claimed was effectively countered by Pakistan during a recent four-day conflict. He stated that the world witnessed how Pakistan’s unified response compelled the aggressor not only to retreat but also to request a ceasefire.

Tarar highlighted that this four-day conflict with India would be remembered as a significant victory for Pakistan. He expressed regret over India’s recent actions of integrating politics with cricket. Tarar noted Pakistan’s military accomplishments, mentioning the downing of six Indian fighter jets, and condemned India for resorting to theatrics in sports due to its inability to prevail militarily.
