Pakistan Committed to Eradication of Polio by End of This Year: Mustafa


Islamabad: Minister for Health Services Mustafa Kamal has announced that Pakistan is committed to the complete eradication of polio from the country by the end of this year. He made this statement during a meeting with Dr. Chris Elias, President of Global Development at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who visited him in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting was centered on strengthening efforts to eliminate polio from Pakistan. The Minister expressed gratitude for the Gates Foundation’s consistent support and acknowledged its crucial role in advancing the country’s anti-polio initiatives.



Minister Kamal also highlighted plans for the upcoming anti-polio drive, scheduled to commence on the 26th of this month. The campaign aims to administer vaccines to over 45.4 million children under the age of five, demonstrating the government’s commitment to eradicating the disease.
