Pakistan, Canada Agree to Enhance Trade Cooperation


Islamabad: Pakistan and Canada have agreed to maintain close coordination to promote sustainable and mutually beneficial trade practices. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Climate Change, Dr. Musadik Malik, and Canadian High Commissioner Tarik Ali Khan in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Musadik Malik highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to upgrade its digital dashboard, aiming to enhance transparency and ease of doing business in Pakistan. The Canadian High Commissioner expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s initiatives to improve regulatory mechanisms and emphasized Canada’s commitment to expanding cooperation in the agriculture and food sectors.



During the discussions, both countries explored ways to streamline the trade framework for genetically modified canola, aiming to enhance trade efficiency and collaboration in this sector.
