Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the unwarranted aggression by Afghan Taliban, Fitna-al-Khawarij, and Fitna-al-Hindustan along the Pak-Afghan border.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Office stated that these unprovoked actions aim at destabilizing the Pak-Afghan border and contradict the spirit of peaceful neighborhood and cooperative relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Office reported that Pakistan, exercising its right of self-defense, effectively repelled the assaults along the border and inflicted significant losses on Taliban forces and their affiliates. These groups have used infrastructure within Afghanistan to plan and facilitate terrorist attacks against Pakistan. In response, Pakistan conducted targeted and precise operations, ensuring minimal collateral damage and prioritizing the protection of civilians.
The Foreign Office emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and a mutually beneficial relationship with Afghanistan. It continues to closely monitor the situation and is prepared to take necessary measures to protect its territory and citizens. Any further provocations will be met with a resolute response.
Pakistan strongly refuted claims made by Afghanistan’s Interim Foreign Minister in India, which seek to distract from the presence of terrorist elements in Afghanistan. The Foreign Office asserted that these baseless claims do not absolve the Taliban from their responsibilities towards regional peace and stability. The ongoing presence and activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan are well-documented by UN Monitoring Teams.
The Foreign Office urged the Taliban to honor its commitment to preventing its territory from being used for terrorism against other countries. It calls for the Taliban to take concrete actions against Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, which operate from Afghan soil. Pakistan has repeatedly communicated its concerns regarding these groups and expects verifiable actions from the Taliban regime.
Highlighting Pakistan’s longstanding support, the Foreign Office mentioned its generous hosting of around four million Afghans over four decades. Pakistan remains committed to regulating the presence of Afghan nationals in line with international norms and laws.
The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s desire for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan. It expects the Taliban regime to act responsibly, fulfill its commitments, and contribute constructively towards eliminating terrorism from the region.
