Dhaka: Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Professor Muhammad Yunus has stated that Pakistan and Bangladesh share numerous affinities which provide a robust foundation to advance mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation. He was in conversation with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, who is visiting Dhaka to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Bangladesh's Prime Minister-elect Tarique Rahman.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the meeting, Ahsan Iqbal extended his congratulations to Professor Yunus and the people of Bangladesh on the successful conduct of elections. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Advisor for efforts in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh across various spheres, including trade, people-to-people contacts, and the revival of direct air connectivity.
The Minister also discussed with Professor Yunus the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor. He highlighted that the first batch of awardees has already commenced their studies at their respective universities in Pakistan. Professor Yunus appreciated this initiative and expressed hope that academic, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges will continue to increase in the coming days.
