Islamabad: Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the Central African Republic (CAR). Addressing the UN Security Council on the situation in CAR, Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Usman Jadoon warned the international community that premature disengagement could imperil the fragile gains achieved through years of collective efforts.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Jadoon emphasized the importance of continued support for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). He highlighted the mission’s critical role in maintaining peace and stability in the region and urged member states to remain committed to supporting MINUSCA’s mandate.
Ambassador Jadoon also called for increased international cooperation and resources to ensure the mission’s success, underscoring the need for sustained efforts to consolidate peace and prevent a relapse into conflict in the CAR. He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the CAR and its people, expressing hope for lasting peace in the region.
