Islamabad: Pakistan Army continues rescue operation in Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan. Joint efforts of Pakistan Army, Rescue 1122, Police and locals are underway and steps are being taken to search for missing persons and rehabilitate the affected families.
According to Radio Pakistan, a temporary tent village has been set up with accommodation, food, and medical facilities for the eleven families affected by floods. Pakistan Army, as always, is standing with the people and is playing a proactive role in this difficult time. Relief packages were distributed among the affected families by Pakistan Army, Civil Administration, and GB Disaster Management Authority.
People are highly appreciative of the humanitarian role of Pakistan Army, Civil Administration, and Rescue 1122. Meanwhile, more contingents of Pakistan Army have reached Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to assist in flood relief activities.
The injured and deceased, buried under the mud, will be recovered using special equipment of the Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers. Ration and other supplies are being provided through Pakistan Army helicopters and people are being shifted to safe places. The operation will continue till all affected people are rescued and shifted to safe places.
