Islamabad: Pakistan and Uzbekistan have established working groups to promote cooperation in priority sectors. This initiative was announced during the tenth session of the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Commission held in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar, briefed the media about the developments, revealing that a plan of action for future cooperation has been laid down. He emphasized that the goal is to achieve a trade target of two billion dollars within three years.
Haroon Akhtar highlighted discussions on enhancing connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan through Afghanistan, noting significant progress in exchanging business delegations across key industries such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, and leather. The Uzbek Minister for Industries, Trade, and Investment remarked on his country's commitment to working closely with Pakistan to promote cooperation and achieve sector-specific targets.
