Islamabad: Pakistan and the United States have agreed to continue working closely to strengthen bilateral relations, with a particular focus on enhancing trade. This understanding was reached during a telephone call between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday.
According to Radio Pakistan, during their conversation, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his appreciation for President Trump’s leadership, which played a pivotal role in achieving a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. He also extended gratitude to Secretary Rubio for the United States’ significant contribution to the Pakistan-India ceasefire.
The two leaders discussed the current situation in the Middle East, with Prime Minister Sharif emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to contributing to peace efforts in the region. Secretary Rubio, in turn, acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and expressed a desire for the US to collaborate with Pakistan in promoting regional peace and stability.
