Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have pledged to further deepen their cooperation in critical areas such as development, climate resilience, and economic engagement. This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between the UK’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, Baroness Jenny Chapman, and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of their longstanding relationship. This relationship is rooted in shared history, robust institutional linkages, and mutual respect. The discussions also touched upon broader regional issues, underlining the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the significant role played by the British Pakistani diaspora in serving as a vital bridge between the two nations. He expressed his appreciation for the visit, viewing it as a crucial opportunity to advance bilateral dialogue and enhance the partnership between the countries. The Prime Minister voiced his confidence that this engagement would contribute to the strengthening of ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
