Pakistan and UAE to Boost Cooperation in Technology and Innovation


Abu dhabi: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to enhance their collaboration in advanced technology, data innovation, and cross-border startup investment. This decision was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for IT, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, the Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi on the sidelines of the GITEX 2025 event.



According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized Pakistan’s initiatives such as the Digital Nation Pakistan Act, the National Data Exchange Layer, and efforts to promote a cashless economy, smart governance, and AI integration. These initiatives underline Pakistan’s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure and integrating new technologies into various sectors.



Additionally, Shaza Fatima had a meeting with Massimo Falcioni, the Chief Competitiveness Officer at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office. The focus of their discussion was on expanding UAE-Pakistan collaboration in digital investment, fostering innovation, and exploring new opportunities for cross-border technology partnerships. This engagement reflects both nations’ dedication to leveraging technology for economic growth and strengthening bilateral ties.
