Pakistan and UAE Sign MoU to Enhance Cooperation in Development Spheres


Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have signed a Memorandum of Understanding focused on exchanging knowledge and expertise across various spheres of development. The agreement was formalized by Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, and the UAE’s Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, Abdullah Nasser Lootah, during a ceremony in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the MoU identifies several key areas for collaboration, including good governance, development planning, public sector reforms, human resource development, urban planning, and science and technology. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who underscored the significance of this partnership.



The UAE delegation, led by Abdullah Nasser Lootah, also met with Prime Minister Sharif. During the meeting, the Prime Minister reflected on his recent discussions with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, highlighting the UAE’s diplomatic role in easing tensions between Pakistan and India.



Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the Pakistani government’s ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing good governance through digitization, creating a paperless economy, implementing a faceless customs system, and promoting data-driven decision-making. He expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in leveraging the UAE’s experiences in modern management to advance these initiatives.



The UAE Minister praised the contributions of the Pakistani community to the development of the UAE and expressed his country’s willingness to share its knowledge and experiences with Pakistan.
