Pakistan and Turkiye Demand Immediate End to Israel’s Aggression Against Iran

Islamabad: Pakistan and Turkiye have called for an immediate end to Israel’s aggressive posturing and illegal actions against Iran, Palestine, and other countries in the region. The emphasis came during a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders agreed that Israel’s military strikes violated Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in clear contravention of the UN Charter and international law, while seriously jeopardizing regional and global peace and stability. They also denounced Israel’s military aggression against the Palestinian people that continued with complete impunity.

The two leaders emphasized that the international community and the United Nations must act collectively. Renewing Pakistan’s commitment to upholding international peace, security, and stability, Prime Minister Sharif stated that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role for peace, both as a member of the UN Security Council and in other forums such as the OIC.

Prime Minister Sharif mentioned that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar would represent Pakistan at the upcoming OIC CFM meeting in Istanbul. He also congratulated President Erdogan on being honored by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum.

Both leaders shared updates on their countries’ diplomatic outreach in the current regional situation and agreed to remain in close contact to coordinate peace efforts.
