Islamabad: Pakistan and Tajikistan have expressed satisfaction on the positive trajectory of their bilateral relations. This development occurred during a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Rahmon on the recent signing of the ‘Treaty on the Delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Border’. The Prime Minister also expressed his anticipation to participate in the “International High-Level Event on Glaciers’ Preservation” scheduled to be hosted in Dushanbe at the end of May 2025.
Prime Minister Sharif extended congratulations to President Rahmon and the people of Tajikistan on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr. In response, President Rahmon expressed gratitude for the call and conveyed his sincere wishes to the people of Pakistan on the same occasion.
In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Sharif shared that he had the pleasure of speaking with President Rahmon. He mentioned that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Pakistan-Tajikistan ties, which have strengthened since his visit to Dushanbe in July. Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated his invitation to President Rahmon to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
