Riyadh: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen their long-standing fraternal ties and contribute towards regional peace, stability, and self-reliance. This commitment was highlighted during a high-level meeting between Chief of General Staff Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza and Chief of General Staff, Royal Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al-Rowaily in Riyadh.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on matters of mutual strategic interest, particularly on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, enhancing interoperability, and advancing collaboration under the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement. The discussions underscored the importance of fostering a cooperative defence relationship between the two nations.
Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza also led Pakistan’s tri-services delegation at a Special Meeting of the Pak-Saudi Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum, which took place in Riyadh. During the forum, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the capacity building of the Royal Saudi Defence Forces. Both sides reviewed the progress of ongoing defence cooperation projects and explored new avenues for joint ventures in emerging technologies, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The Saudi leadership expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s commitment, achievements, and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, as well as its significant contributions to regional peace and stability.
