Pakistan and Rwanda to Boost Bilateral Trade via Maritime Corridors

Islamabad: Pakistan and Rwanda have decided to enhance their bilateral trade by establishing maritime-linked corridors that will connect Karachi Port with major East African ports.

According to Radio Pakistan, this decision was made during a meeting between Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Rwandan Ambassador Harerimana Fatou in Islamabad. Junaid Chaudhry emphasized Pakistan’s plan to initiate direct maritime trade corridors from Karachi to strategic logistics hubs such as Djibouti and Mombasa.

Chaudhry also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to develop Gwadar Port into a specialized export hub aimed at boosting trade with Africa, particularly East African countries. He noted that the creation of these direct maritime corridors is expected to reduce logistics costs, accelerate delivery times, and enhance export competitiveness.
