Pakistan and Russia Affirm Satisfaction with Positive Bilateral Relations


Moscow: Pakistan and Russia have expressed deep satisfaction with the positive trajectory of their bilateral relations. This development occurred during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.



According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders acknowledged the excellent coordination between their countries at multilateral forums, including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and pledged to further deepen these relations in the interest of both nations. The meeting involved a comprehensive review of the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, with both leaders exchanging views on wide-ranging regional and international issues.



Ishaq Dar emphasized the vital role of both countries’ leadership and bilateral institutional mechanisms in further strengthening their relations. In addition to his meeting with Sergey Lavrov, Dar also engaged with other regional leaders on the sidelines of the 24th SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting in Moscow.



During his meeting with Tajikistan’s Prime Minister, Kokhir Rasulzoda, Dar congratulated him on assuming the chair of the next Council of Heads of Government meeting. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties with Tajikistan across various areas and deepen cooperation at multilateral forums.



Ishaq Dar also met with Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov, where he appreciated the positive momentum in Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations. He underscored the importance of high-level interactions and cooperation at multilateral forums, including the SCO.



Furthermore, Dar extended congratulations to Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, on assuming the Chair of the SCO Heads of State. During their meeting, both leaders highlighted the importance of regional collaboration and discussed SCO initiatives and Kyrgyzstan’s assumption of the rotating presidency.
