Pakistan and Qatar Vow to Further Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Doha: Pakistan and Qatar have reaffirmed their shared commitment to further enhance their strategic partnership, agreeing to maintain engagement on bilateral, regional, and international issues. This resolve was expressed during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Doha.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international developments, expressing satisfaction over the growing momentum in political, economic, and institutional engagement between the two nations. Their discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade and investment, energy, defense, labor mobility, cultural collaboration, and the joint task force created to accelerate cooperation in these areas.

The leaders emphasized the importance of implementing decisions made during recent high-level engagements and institutional mechanisms, such as the Joint Ministerial Commission and Bilateral Political Consultations. They also discussed regional issues, including developments in Gaza and broader Gulf security dynamics.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged Qatar's diplomatic efforts in promoting dialogue and de-escalation in the region. Both leaders underscored the importance of peaceful resolution of disputes and adherence to international law, including the UN charter.
