Pakistan and Qatar Explore Enhanced Trade and Investment Opportunities


Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani called on President Asif Ali Zardari in Doha today. They discussed expanding bilateral relations, promoting trade, and enhancing investment opportunities.



According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari praised the Qatari leadership for its measures to safeguard national security amid Israeli aggression and lauded Qatar’s efforts in this regard. He also commended Qatar for the successful hosting of FIFA World Cup 2022 and the exemplary measures taken during the event.



The Qatari Prime Minister acknowledged the bravery of the Pakistani nation and Armed Forces during the recent Pak-India conflict and expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s resilience. He also emphasized the hope that ongoing initiatives in Afghanistan will lead to lasting peace and stability.



Asif Ali Zardari invited the Qatari leadership to invest in Pakistan, especially in the stock exchange. The Qatari Prime Minister responded that Qatar is already investing in the Pakistan Stock Exchange and intends to increase the volume of its investments.



The meeting was attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.
