Islamabad: Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced that a passenger and cargo ferry service between Pakistan and Oman is set to strengthen maritime connectivity and enhance bilateral trade. In a statement, he conveyed that both nations are on the verge of signing a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize this ferry link. According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the strategic significance of establishing a direct ferry route from Gwadar to Oman. He pointed out its potential to generate considerable economic benefits through increased trade, investment inflows, and transit revenue. The anticipated ferry service aims to facilitate the movement of passengers and cargo, providing a direct, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional shipping and air transport.
