Pakistan and Muslim Nations Denounce Israel’s Ceasefire Breaches in Gaza

Islamabad: Pakistan and seven other Muslim countries have jointly condemned Israel for its repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza.

According to Radio Pakistan, a joint statement was issued by the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. The statement strongly condemns Israel's illegal actions aimed at imposing unlawful sovereignty and expanding settlement activity in the occupied West Bank, asserting that Israel holds no sovereignty over the Palestinian territories.

The Foreign Ministers warned that Israel's expansionist policies and illegal measures in the West Bank fuel violence and conflict in the region. They rejected these actions as blatant violations of international law, undermining the two-state solution and the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state with occupied Jerusalem as its capital. These actions also threaten ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability.

The ministers emphasized that these measures in the West Bank are null and void, violating UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, which condemns attempts to alter the demographic composition of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.

Furthermore, the 2024 advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice was highlighted, which declared Israel's occupation policies illegal and stressed the need to end the occupation and reject the annexation of Palestinian lands.
