Accra: Pakistan and Ghana have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and agreed to enhance cooperation across various sectors. The understanding was reached during the First Bilateral Political Consultations held in Ghana.
According to Radio Pakistan, this event marked a significant milestone in the development of relations between the two countries. The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, while the Ghanaian side was headed by Chief Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu.
During the consultations, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed. The first MoU focused on Bilateral Political Consultations, while the second was an agreement between the Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad, and the Ghana Foreign Service Institute.
Both nations agreed to enhance cooperation in a broad range of areas, including political, economic, defense, tourism, cultural, health, education, and information technology. The two sides also agreed to hold the next round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad next year.
Pakistan and Ghana have enjoyed friendly and cooperative ties for many decades. This institutional dialogue process is expected to further strengthen their relations through more meaningful and project-specific cooperation.
