Pakistan and Denmark to Boost Climate Action Collaboration

Islamabad: Pakistan and Denmark have decided to further enhance collaboration in climate action and science diplomacy. The decision was made during a meeting between Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik and Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan Maja Mortensen in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included an in-depth discussion on the evolving dimensions of science diplomacy, particularly in the context of the current global political landscape. Both parties expressed a strong commitment to addressing climate change through enhanced cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Dr. Musadik Malik emphasized the disproportionate burden of climate change borne by countries of the Global South, despite their comparatively lower contribution to global emissions. He stressed the need for global partnerships to support these countries in mitigating climate impacts.

The Minister also appreciated the strong social welfare models and progressive environmental values of the Nordic countries, highlighting them as a potential source of inspiration and learning for Pakistan's environmental policies.
