Pakistan and Czech Republic Sign Protocols to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation


Islamabad: Pakistan and Czech Republic have signed important protocols to enhance their bilateral cooperation in different sectors. The protocols were signed during the first session of Pakistan-Czech Republic Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Joint Commission meeting was co-chaired by Special Secretary of Ministry of Economic Affairs Muhammad Humair Karim, and Director General for the EU and Foreign Trade Section of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic David Muller. In his remarks, Muhammad Humair Karim highlighted the Czech Republic’s industrial strength and Pakistan’s strategic location and emerging market, which offer significant complementarities.



He emphasized the necessity to increase bilateral trade, streamline trade procedures, reduce tariff and non-tariff barriers, and establish direct logistics channels. Furthermore, he invited Czech businesses to invest in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in sectors such as automotive, renewable energy, agricultural technology, information technology, and manufacturing.



The Joint Commission concluded with a mutual agreement to convene the second meeting of the Pakistan-Czech Republic Joint Commission in Prague next year. The successful launch of this Joint Commission marks a significant step forward in deepening Pakistan-Czech Republic economic relations through structured dialogue and practical collaboration.
