New york: Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen their strategic partnership. This significant development emerged from a meeting between Pakistan's Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, and China's Vice Minister of Public Security, Ling Zhifeng, held at the United Nations Headquarters.

According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders reiterated their dedication to enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. They also agreed to expand their collaboration on internal security matters, emphasizing the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation in areas such as border management, combating illegal immigration, and counter-narcotics initiatives.

Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the crucial need to curb terrorist financing at every level, advocating for a united stance against countries involved in sponsoring and financing terrorism. The Interior Minister expressed Pakistan's keen interest in deepening its security cooperation with China, underscoring the establishment of a Special Protection Police Force to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan.

Furthermore, Naqvi emphasized the significance of people-to-people contacts in promoting bilateral relations and called for the facilitation of visa regimes to enhance these interactions. In response, China's Vice Minister of Public Security acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and stressed the importance of joint efforts by both countries to combat this global menace.
