Pakistan and China Commit to Strengthening Strategic Cooperative Partnership


Doha: Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their resolve to further deepen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership based on mutual trust, respect, and a shared vision for regional peace and prosperity. This commitment was made during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, held on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha.



According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders agreed to continue close cooperation on issues of mutual interest at regional and international forums. President Asif Ali Zardari, recalling his recent visit to China, emphasized the steadfast relationship between the two nations, describing Pakistan and China as iron brothers and all-weather strategic cooperative partners. He expressed gratitude for China’s consistent and unwavering support to Pakistan through various challenges and reaffirmed that the friendship with China remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.



The President also commended China’s ongoing partnership in the successful implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), noting that the initiative has now entered its second phase of high-quality development. In response, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng assured that China would continue to support Pakistan’s economic development under this second phase, particularly focusing on sectors such as transport and infrastructure, information technology, agriculture, and vocational training.
