Pakistan and Canada Commit to Expanding Trade and Investment Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Canada have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation in trade and investment. Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan engaged in a telephonic conversation with his Canadian counterpart Maninder Sidhu to discuss strategies for advancing their economic partnership.

According to Radio Pakistan, both ministers expressed their commitment to expanding partnerships for mutual economic benefit. The Canadian side acknowledged Pakistan's move to facilitate the resumption of Canadian canola shipments, viewing it as a positive step towards strengthening agricultural trade flows.

The ministers concurred on the importance of trade diversification, with discussions touching on expanding cooperation beyond traditional sectors. The Canadian minister was informed about Pakistan's focus on the minerals and mining sector, identified as a new priority area for investment and industrial development. Canadian companies were invited to explore opportunities within this sector.
