Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the productive deliberations held during the ninth session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission. He was talking to Belarusian Minister for Energy Dzenis Maroz, who called on him in Islamabad today. During the Joint Ministerial Commission, the two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, including trade, industry, agriculture, banking, labour, transport, and energy.

According to Radio Pakistan, both sides expressed confidence that the outcomes of the Joint Ministerial Commission will translate into tangible benefits for both countries and further consolidate the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen bilateral coordination to materialize cooperation across all sectors agreed upon by the leadership of the two countries.

While welcoming the Belarusian Minister and his delegation, the Prime Minister conveyed his warm greetings and good wishes to President Alexander Lukashenko. Shehbaz Sharif fondly recalled President Lukashenko's visit to Islamabad in November 2024, as well as his own visit to Belarus in April 2025, which further strengthened bilateral ties across all spheres of shared interest. On his part, the visiting Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the gracious welcome and conveyed the warm regards of the Belarusian leadership. He briefed the Prime Minister on the substantive progress made during the JMC meeting.
