Islamabad: Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to form a joint working group aimed at promoting Interfaith Harmony between the two nations. This decision was made during a meeting held in Islamabad between the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, and a Bangladeshi delegation led by Adviser on Religious Affairs, A.F.M. Khalid Hussain.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the meeting, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf suggested the exchange of visits between Ulema and students of Madaris from both countries. He emphasized that the relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh is deeply rooted in centuries of shared traditions, Islamic heritage, social values, and literary expression. The minister also noted that enhancing bilateral relations would benefit the entire region.

In response, Khalid Hussain stated that steps will be taken to foster mutual cooperation between the Ministries of Religious Affairs of the two countries. The Bangladeshi delegation also expressed their condolences for the loss of lives and property due to recent floods in Pakistan.
