Pakistan and Australia Commit to Strengthening Cooperation in Border Management and Human Trafficking Prevention


Islamabad: Pakistan and Australia have agreed to enhance cooperation in the areas of border management, Coast Guards, and prevention of human trafficking. The commitment was expressed during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins in Islamabad today.



According to Radio Pakistan, during the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s stance on discouraging illegal immigration while promoting legal migration. He stated that individuals involved in illegal immigration will face strict legal action upon their return, and efforts are ongoing to tackle human trafficking with firm measures.



In his remarks, Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins expressed condolences over recent tragic incidents involving the martyrdom of a police officer and security forces members. He also praised the restoration work of Gaddafi Stadium and lauded the welfare and development projects in Islamabad under Mohsin Naqvi’s leadership, noting visible improvements in the city. Additionally, he highlighted the significant enhancement in Pakistan’s international stature and respect in recent times.
