Pakistan Advocates for Peaceful Resolution in Iran at UN

New york: At the UN, Pakistan has expressed its hope for an early normalization of the situation in Iran and extended support for diplomatic efforts aimed at regional peace and stability.

According to Radio Pakistan, these remarks were made by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during the Security Council briefing on 'The Situation in the Middle East'. Ahmad emphasized Pakistan's firm belief in resolving disputes through peaceful means and adherence to international law. He warned that continued hostilities, use of force, and unilateral actions could hinder the resolution of core issues and lead to unnecessary humanitarian suffering.

Ahmad further stated that any threat or use of force would only worsen the situation and undermine both regional and international peace and stability. He urged all parties involved to exercise restraint, act responsibly, and strictly adhere to international law, while avoiding actions detrimental to peace and security.

He highlighted that diplomacy and dialogue should be the guiding principles for negotiating settlements of contentious issues, in line with the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the concerned parties.
