Pak-EPA and Islamabad Police Target Smoky Vehicles in Emission Testing Campaign


Islamabad: Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with Islamabad Police, has resumed vehicle emission testing campaign to tackle the federal capital’s worsening air quality. The drive is part of a broader initiative to protect the environment and public health from adverse impacts of air pollution caused due to vehicular carbon emissions.



According to Radio Pakistan, under the campaign, Mundi Police Check Post near Metro Mall and Faizabad Interchange on the Islamabad-Lahore route have been chosen for monitoring and enforcement due to their heavy vehicular flow. Director General Environmental Protection Agency Nazia Zaib Ali has urged all vehicle owners in Islamabad to regularly maintain their vehicles to meet legal emission limits and contribute to a cleaner environment as a responsible citizen.
